Murder. Bombing. Terror. Conspiracy. All these words have been whispered and bellowed for years. This compendium of negativity goes on and on, and we are so ingrained with this, so helplessly enslaved in propaganda that it’s near impossible to break free. Everywhere you look there are labels and colors and symbols meant to sway your decision making process. So how do we break away from this calm, calculating, and manipulative system? There is a quote attributed to H. L. Mencken that I personally adore; “For every complex problem, there is a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong.” We cannot break away from the system. We must change the system.
While I completely agree with Jacque Fresco and the validity of The Venus Project, we as humankind need to be aware of, and understand, our bond with nature. Paganistic cultures were extremely in tune with the Earth and the celestial bodies, but with the outpour of luxury technology, we see the decline of, not only interest in the Earth, but the health of our world. Personally, I do not believe in global warming, but I am aware of the toxic substances dumped in our rivers and oceans. Just because global warming may not exist, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to improve our society.
Improving our society will not be easy and it will not be fun. Hard work, tremendous support, unification, and a balance of ideas will all be critical. If we do not work hard, and not in the sense of working to make money, but in the sense of working for a cause that you believe in, then no progress will be made. If we do not have support, then who will help us work? Who will back our voice? By no means am I saying that God does or does not exist, but as a perfect example, what good is the Voice of God, with no God? With support we gain numbers. Many people have many ideas and biases. Obviously, we cannot force people to adhere to a singularity, but as long as we are working for the same cause, then the outcome will be good, in the truest sense of the word. With those many people and many ideas, group-think and mob mentality arises. We must balance our ideas. Most Muslims are peace loving and kind people, but the radical bombers are the ones who cause the sociological damage. We must keep face and unite in our search for Truth.
Most of you know that zeitgeist means “the spirit of the time; the spirit characteristic of an age or generation.” Just as Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche said at the beginning of the first Zeitgeist movie, we are in the now. It’s very simple and not mystical. Just, now. That’s what we are fighting for. Yes we care about what our children inherit and we care that the Earth stays healthy, but we are fighting for us, for now. We fight because we see injustice, and we see inflation, and we see people starving in Africa and children digging through garbage in India. There are people who live on less than a dollar a day, people who have to walk miles for fresh water. Can technology not help us fight these deplorable conditions? I fight not for myself, but those who cannot fight. I fight for those who have been blinded by propaganda. I fight for humankind as a whole. Who are you fighting for?
