A quick glance at this and you'll see a brief overview of the pro's and con's of red meat. Zinc, iron, protein, speculated weight loss, and B vitamins are all excellent examples of the benefit of red meat. On the opposite scale, mind you; bowel cancer, Alzheimer's disease, bones structure loss, Arthritis, high cholesterol, food poisoning, and breast cancer. Now this may not encompass white meats, but the average person eats much more red meat than white meat. Now, using this nifty little calculator, I figured out how much zinc my body actually needs. Using this, my body has roughly 2.32221 grams. Zinc deficient plants exhibit delayed maturity, therefore, all plants need zinc. By this logic, zinc isn't all that hard to find in a vegan diet. Vegetarians tend to have lower iron stores than meat-eaters. This is because haem iron is more readily absorbed than non-haem iron. Although vegetarians have lower iron stores, adverse health effects have never been demonstrated with varied vegetarian diets in developed countries. As a major constituent of the diet, protein serves as the foundations for health, repair and replenishment, the other two macronutrients being carbohydrates and fat. Anything that grows contains protein. Nothing can grow without protein, which forms the basic building blocks of life. A cup of broccoli, which is about 40 grams contains about 1.3 grams of protein. The average drumstick of chicken contains 11 grams. It's a well known fact that vegans have trouble with b-12, and b-12 is an important part of your diet. While yes, you do get b-12 mostly from meat, there are plenty of plants that have it too, you just need to eat more of them. On a well planned diet there is no reason to eat meat.
A Quick Article by Joe Downie
“How do I make sure to get enough protein?” is a common question for vegetarians. Protein is important because it helps your body grow and recover from injury or illness.
Protein comes from animal and plant sources and is made up of amino acids. There are 20 different amino acids. The body itself can produce 11 of them, while the other nine are considered “essential” amino acids and must be absorbed from food. Even though meat is a great and easy way to obtain protein, you can incorporate all nine “essential” amino acids into your diet without eating any meat.
To do this, it’s important to eat a variety of whole grains, veggies, beans, soy, legumes, seeds and nuts to make sure you absorb all the essential amino acids. Some foods are lower in one amino acid, while others might be higher. Consuming all the essential amino acids in a single meal isn’t necessary. As long as you eat a variety of foods on a regular basis, they will combine to make complete proteins.
There are several advantages to eating a vegetarian diet:
* You eat less cholesterol – there is no cholesterol in plant foods.
* You will eat more fiber, which helps reduce the risks of bowel diseases.
* You usually don’t exceed your calorie limit.
Your body only requires that 12 - 15 % of your calories come from protein. Storing protein is not possible and your body gets rid of any excess. Too much protein can actually be unhealthy. There is nothing to be concerned about when it comes to vegetarians getting adequate protein. Variety is key!"
The only argument I present against dairy is that humans are the only species that not only drinks milk past infancy, but we are also the only species that drinks milk from other species. Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. Dairy is high in fat, which can be good for the body, unless it's saturated fat, which most of the fat in dairy is. Almost all packaged milk is high in pesticides, antibiotics, and hormones. Dairy products contain lactose, a type of milk-sugar that many people have difficulty digesting. That's where the term "lactose intolerance" comes from. Humans were not meant to ingest this sugar. Period.
As for vitamin D, it's not even really a vitamin as much as it is a hormone. A hormone created when sunlight hits the skin. The end. Once you have a varied diet, the only thing you'll have to worry about is following your rigid diet, which when you look at the benefits of, shouldn't be hard at all.
Being a vegan can mean a diet of less fat and less chemicals. According to the American Dietetic Association, "Vegetarian plans tend to result in lower rates of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer. Vegetarians also tend to have lower body mass indexes and cholesterol levels." The ADA also said vegetarians are 50 percent less likely to develop heart disease, and they have a 40 percent lower cancer rate of meat-eaters. Meat-eaters are nine times more likely to be obese than vegans. Vegetarians and vegans live, on average, six to 10 years longer than meat-eaters, and as an added bonus, you are always the center of attention when eating with a group of people.
Sorry kids, the food pyramid lied. The kicker? Vegetarians have stronger immune systems than meat-eaters, which means they won't need vaccinations.
Vaccination.
There has been a lot of talk about Swine Flu (H1N1) and the vaccine surrounding it. It brought my attention to vaccines in general. After doing a bit of research I was shocked at what I found. Horrible chemicals and heavy metals in the fluid, skewed results, and links to mental disabilities? I would not put it past the greedy fingers reaching into your pockets that we call the pharmaceutical companies. With the help of my now good friend Nicholas Haas, the president of Medical Voices Vaccine Information Center, and the knowledge guru, Paradigm667, I gathered more research and formulated results.
In my first exhibit, I'd like you to take a look at a graph from the popular, JennyMcCarthyBodyCount.com, representing the decline of Diptheria.

Though this graph is small, you can get an idea of the trends. You can find this graph for yourself at JennyMcCarthyBodyCount.com, and I urge you to look for yourself and not just take my word for it. Basically, this graph shows the downward spiral of Diptheria after the vaccine was implemented. Just below this graph on the website, and again, I implore you to see for yourself and not just take my word for it, it states,"1921: Diphtheria Vaccine Licensed." The beginning of the Jenny McCarthy graph is at 1944, 23 years after the initial use of the vaccine. What the Jenny McCarthy graph doesn't show you is the initial 23 years and the years leading up to the initial use of the Diptheria.

It's quite interesting to compare all of these. Strangely enough, there is a large spike in deaths after the vaccines first implementation.
Here is the Jenny McCarthy website:

Here are the websites that show graphs before the vaccines were introduced, among other things:

The decrease of viral outbreaks has been declining since before these graphs even started. If you need me to spell it our for you; vaccines aren't helping, the way of life is improving.
Ladies and gentlemen, the answer is simple. You don't need a sexy new vaccine to fight the evil virus that's out to get us. Eat healthy, get your sunlight and vitamins, and stop trying to artificially protect yourself. The human body is amazing; let it be amazing. In the Clifford Miller article, the opening statement is,"Here, two centuries of UK, USA, and Australian official death statistics show conclusively and scientifically modern medicine is not responsible and played little part in substantially improved life expectancy and survival from disease in western economies." As I read further I came across,"The main advances in combating disease over 200 years have been better food and clean drinking water. Improved sanitation, less overcrowded and better living conditions also contribute." When you really think about these improvements and look at third world countries that are still disease ridden, and compare them to the improved way of life of America or Western Europe, the results are clear.
All that aside, my next epiphany was much more simple. Don't we have skin for a reason? Skin is our natural barrier from things getting in that aren't supposed to get in, and if they do get in, they come in through the mouth or nose. Would you ever do heroin? Use this reasoning; taking a sharp piece of metal and push it through your natural barrier, and use that open wound to pour in chemicals and microbes and animal byproducts. Congratulations, you've made your first vaccine. Doesn't sound too great does it. http://www.informedchoice.info/cocktail.html is a website that lists the ingredients in vaccines. For this example, I've chosen one vaccine: FluShield. FluShield is manufactured by Wyeth-Ayerst. This site even has a phone number you can call, and you can bet your hard earned dollar, I called. Here are three of the various ingredients: formaldehyde, thimerosal, and polysorbate 80 (Tween-80). Now, I know wikipedia isn't the best source of information, but I checked around and the census is standard. A quick wikipedia of these agents reveals some startling facts.
"In view of its widespread use, toxicity, and volatility, exposure to formaldehyde is a significant consideration for human health." And I'm paying you to put that in me?
"Thiomersal, commonly known in the United States as thimerosal, is an organomercury compound (approximately 49% mercury by weight) used..." Now in case you didn't know, mercury poisoning is a terrible ailment which symptoms typically include sensory impairment, disturbed sensation and a lack of coordination.
Just to let you off easy, polysorbate 80 is nothing more than a chemical to prevent milk from making ice cream gooey, but, do you really want that in your blood stream?
The point is, even if vaccines aren't damaging us, they aren't helping. Why are we spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on something that's not even beneficial.

September Column.
Murder. Bombing. Terror. Conspiracy. All these words have been whispered and bellowed for years. This compendium of negativity goes on and on, and we are so ingrained with this, so helplessly enslaved in propaganda that it’s near impossible to break free. Everywhere you look there are labels and colors and symbols meant to sway your decision making process. So how do we break away from this calm, calculating, and manipulative system? There is a quote attributed to H. L. Mencken that I personally adore; “For every complex problem, there is a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong.” We cannot break away from the system. We must change the system.
While I completely agree with Jacque Fresco and the validity of The Venus Project, we as humankind need to be aware of, and understand, our bond with nature. Paganistic cultures were extremely in tune with the Earth and the celestial bodies, but with the outpour of luxury technology, we see the decline of, not only interest in the Earth, but the health of our world. Personally, I do not believe in global warming, but I am aware of the toxic substances dumped in our rivers and oceans. Just because global warming may not exist, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to improve our society.
Improving our society will not be easy and it will not be fun. Hard work, tremendous support, unification, and a balance of ideas will all be critical. If we do not work hard, and not in the sense of working to make money, but in the sense of working for a cause that you believe in, then no progress will be made. If we do not have support, then who will help us work? Who will back our voice? By no means am I saying that God does or does not exist, but as a perfect example, what good is the Voice of God, with no God? With support we gain numbers. Many people have many ideas and biases. Obviously, we cannot force people to adhere to a singularity, but as long as we are working for the same cause, then the outcome will be good, in the truest sense of the word. With those many people and many ideas, group-think and mob mentality arises. We must balance our ideas. Most Muslims are peace loving and kind people, but the radical bombers are the ones who cause the sociological damage. We must keep face and unite in our search for Truth.
Most of you know that zeitgeist means “the spirit of the time; the spirit characteristic of an age or generation.” Just as Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche said at the beginning of the first Zeitgeist movie, we are in the now. It’s very simple and not mystical. Just, now. That’s what we are fighting for. Yes we care about what our children inherit and we care that the Earth stays healthy, but we are fighting for us, for now. We fight because we see injustice, and we see inflation, and we see people starving in Africa and children digging through garbage in India. There are people who live on less than a dollar a day, people who have to walk miles for fresh water. Can technology not help us fight these deplorable conditions? I fight not for myself, but those who cannot fight. I fight for those who have been blinded by propaganda. I fight for humankind as a whole. Who are you fighting for?
